A co upl e of days ago it was a school night. A late school night. I have a feeling I had allowed myself a cup of co ffee — I say "allowed" because in an effort to not stunt my growth too much, I limit myself to 3 or if I'm really desperate, 4 cups a week. Anyways, the house was quiet and dark, (truth be told I probably was averaging an exasperated sigh every few minutes) but other than that the house was quiet and dark except for the warm glow of the lamp next to me sitting on the sofa. (At this point in writing this post I paused to google "sofa" because it looks weird but "that's how I talk so that's just how it's going to have to be" I tell myself). I was hazily (I guess the coffee failed) trying to read and translate a letter Abigail Adams wrote to John Adams which at this exhausted, unmotivated point in my life was getting old.
